How to remove an Ad Account from a Multi-Account Budget

Updated yesterday

If you need to remove an Ad Account from a Multi-Account Budget, and there are Child Budgets that include this Ad Account, we'll provide options on what you'd like to do with them: delete or convert to a Parent Budget

Note: When removing Ad Accounts from Budgets, you will more than likely need to update the current and future Budget Targets, and review the Automation and any Campaign selection you may have chosen (ie. Dynamic or Static campaign selection)

The steps below apply to removing Ad Accounts from either Parent or Child Budgets.

How to remove an Ad Account from a Multi-Account Budget

  1. Open the budget settings page by either:

  • Clicking on the name of the budget

  • Select 'Edit Budget Settings' from the triple-dot menu of the budget

2. For the Ad Account you wish to remove, click the X next to the name of the Ad Account

3. If the budget has a Child Budget that includes this Ad Account, a model will open with options for managing that Child Budget. Note: There could be more than one.

Option 1: Delete Budget

  • This will delete the Child Budget and remove the Ad Account from the Multi-Account Budget. That Ad Account will no longer have a budget.

Option 2: Convert to Parent Budget

  • This will convert the Child Budget to a new Parent Budget and remove the Ad Account from the Multi-Account Budget.

If you have two tiers of Child Budgets, you'll need to action the Tier 2 Child Budgets first, and then options for handling the Tier 1 Child Budgets will appear.
