Leveraging Non-user Contacts you can send Alerts to third-party tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Monday.com, etc.

To set this up you need to:

  1. Source the email address to send the alert to from the third-party platform

    1. That is what this article helps with

  2. Create a Non-user Contact for that email address

How to find the email addresses for some of the more common Third-Party tools:


Send Alerts to Slack

Slack has an email address for each Channel, so you can leverage this as a Non-user Contact.

  1. Go to the Settings of the Channel and click on Integrations

  1. At the bottom, there will be a 'Send emails to this Channel' section. Click this and Slack will generate an email address for this Channel

  1. Create a Non-user Contact for that email address


Send Alerts to Microsoft Teams

Teams has an email address for each Channel, so you can leverage this as a Non-user Contact.

  1. Go to the channel name, and select the triple dot 'more options' button > Get email address.

  1. Create a Non-user Contact for that email address


Send Alerts to Monday.com

Monday.com has an email address for each Board, so you can leverage this as a Non-user Contact.

How to find the Monday.com Board email address

  1. Head to the board you wish to email and click the three-dot menu in the top right corner. From the dropdown menu, select "Board settings" and then "Create items via email":

  1. At the bottom of the pop-up window, you'll find your board's unique email address! You can click "Copy" to copy it to your clipboard so that you can paste it directly into your email.

  1. Create a Non-user Contact for that email address


Send Alerts to Trello

Trello has an email address for each Board and you can use this to create Cards, so you can leverage this as a Non-user Contact.

  1. Open settings using the triple-dot on the top right of the Board

  1. Scroll to and click 'Email-to-board' settings

  1. Copy the email address to use here. You are also able to update the settings for where you want the card to appear.

  2. Create a Non-user Contact for that email address


Send Alerts to Asana

Asana has email addresses for Team and Project messages, so you can leverage this as a Non-user Contact.

  1. At the bottom of every team's messages page, there is an email address listed. The email address for any team message is [TeamName]@mail.asana.com

How to find the Project Message email address

  1. At the bottom of every project's messages page, there is an email address listed. The email address for any project message is [ProjectName]@mail.asana.com

Send Alerts to Zapier

You can trigger Zaps with an email, so you can leverage this as a Non-user Contact. This process uses an email you own, rather than Zapier providing one.

  1. Trigger from new emails with Email by Zapier

  • Click the Trigger step.

  • Search for and select Email by Zapier.

  • Click the Event dropdown menu and select New Inbound Email.

  • Click Continue.

  • In the Email address field, customize your inbound @zapiermail email address. This is the mailbox that will trigger the Zap when new emails are received.

  • Click Copy to copy the full email address to the computer's clipboard.

  • Click Continue.

  • Go to your email client (e.g., Gmail) and send a test email to your custom @zapiermail.com email address.

  • Go back to Zapier and click Test trigger to test the connection.
