Overview
The Top 5 Performance Optimizations feature in Adpulse is designed to help you quickly identify and implement changes that have the potential for the largest impact on performance across your ad accounts.
By assigning an Impact Score to each of the thousands of potential actions within the Optimize > Performance dashboard, Adpulse can rank each optimization based on its potential to improve performance toward your KPIs.
This feature allows you to:
Prioritize high-impact actions: Focus on optimizations that offer the greatest improvement.
Efficiently manage time: If you're short on time, address the top 5 recommendations. If you have more time, continue through the subsequent suggestions.
Customize your view: Use filters and tags to narrow down optimizations by account, campaign, or other criteria.
Where to Find the Top 5
You can access your Top 5 Performance Optimizations in two places:
Dashboard
Ensure that "Top 5" is toggled on in the highlighted 'Top 5 Performance Optimizations' panel.
This gives you a quick view of your highest-impact tasks across your entire portfolio. If you have an active account or tag filter set, the Top 5 will represent the highest-impact optimizations for those accounts.

2. Optimize Menu
Head to Optimize in the left-hand navigation.
You’ll see the full ranked list of optimizations, with the Top 5 highlighted at the top.
You can load another 5, by clicking 'Load more'
How to take action
Clicking the green action button next to an optimization suggestion will open an action modal where you can add keywords, change bids, etc.
Impact Score Explained
The Impact Score is Adpulse's proprietary metric designed to quantify the potential effectiveness of each recommended optimization. It helps you prioritize actions that are most likely to enhance your campaign performance.
How It Works:
Quadrant Analysis: Each campaign is plotted on a performance scatter plot based on two key metrics:
Performance vs. KPI: Indicates whether the campaign is meeting its key performance indicators.
Budget Pacing: Shows if the campaign is spending its budget too quickly, too slowly, or just right.
This plotting places campaigns into one of several quadrants:
Top-Right Quadrant: Overpacing and overperforming.
Top-Left Quadrant: Underpacing and overperforming.
Bottom-Right Quadrant: Overpacing and underperforming.
Bottom-Left Quadrant: Underpacing and underperforming.
Optimization Evaluation: For each campaign, Adpulse evaluates potential optimization actions now that we understand the context (e.g., adjusting bid modifiers, adding keywords) and estimates their impact on performance.
Scoring: Using a proprietary formula, Adpulse calculates the Impact Score by assessing how much a specific action is expected to move the needle towards achieving your KPIs.
Ranking: By displaying optimizations with the highest score at the top of the list, you can instantly discover where to optimize.
By combining quadrant positioning with estimated optimization effectiveness, the Impact Score ensures that you focus on actions that offer the most significant potential improvements.
