Adpulse Updates - 22 May 2025

Updated this week

Quite a few bits this week, from new features to some great little improvements

  • Budget spend only download

  • Updated the restricted user permission

  • New Insight: Smart Bidding is underperforming

  • Dashboard Budget Performance bubble size update

  • New budget alert condition: Daily budget less than X

  • Two new Performance Optimization tables:

    • Demographics

    • Networks

Budget spend only download

We've added a new option for downloading budgets that will only download the spend data for the specified time frame.

This is to provide customers with spend data per month for their budgets, regardless of their length. Great if you have yearly, weekly, or daily budgets, but need data for the spend per month

Updated the restricted user permission

We've updated the restricted user permission functionality so you can add non-user tags to what a restricted user can see.

Previously, when you 'restricted' a user, they could only see the Ad Accounts tagged to their User Tag. Now, you can add other non-user tags to this to allow them access to other accounts, in addition to their User Tag.

This is great when you're using tags to identify team structures.

New Insight: Smart Bidding is underperforming

This Insight analyses the Campaign performance and whether it has fallen outside the best practice parameters for a Smart Budding Campaign. Instead, it recommends an updated Bid Strategy.

Our recommendation is based on performance benchmarks and conversion volume:

  • Campaigns not meeting KPI benchmarks

  • Less than 20 conversions in the past 30 days

  • Smart bidding in use (e.g., Maximize Conversions, Target CPA, etc.)

Dashboard Budget Performance bubble size update

It was recently pointed out to us that when customers run Ad Accounts in multiple currencies, the variance between the currencies can distort the relative size of the bubbles on the Budget Performance chart on the Dashboard.

We've made a small update so that the bubble size uses a consistent currency. Regardless of the currency, the relative size of the budget will be more accurately displayed in the bubble size.

Example:

  • Budget 1 = $5,000 AUD ($3,215.00 USD)

  • Budget 2 = Rp50,000 IDR ($3.05 USD)

Before the update, Budget 2 bubble would be significantly larger (50,000 > 5,000), after the update, Budget 1 would be the larger one (3215.00 > 3.05)

Note - The value displayed in the bubble popup will remain in the currency of the Ad Account

New budget alert condition

As requested by several customers, we've added 'less than' as a condition when creating a daily budget spend alert.

This is great when you need to monitor a budget(s) closely and be alerted if the campaigns do not spend a target percentage by a certain time each day.

Demographics Performance Optimization

We've added a new tab to the Performance Optimizations called 'Demographics'. This gives you an analysis of the following segments of your campaigns: Age, Company, Gender, Income, Industry, Job Functions, Job Title, and Parental Status, depending on the ad platform.

Note: Actions have not yet been deployed but should be out soon. With these, you'll be able to adjust bids for the various demographics.

Network Performance Optimization

We've also added a tab for 'Networks', which analyses the performance of the various networks available for your campaigns, for example, with Meta, this would be: Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Audience Network.

Note: Actions have not yet been deployed but should be out soon. With these, you'll be able to adjust bids for the various demographics.
