Adpulse communicates to the various ad platforms via their APIs (Application Programming Interface - effectively the pipeline through which we send and receive data), but the platforms will often limit or omit the data available through the API for lesser-used functions or capabilities.
This article talks specifically about campaign types that are not currently supported by the APIs, which will limit some of Adpulse’s capacity to support your ninja account management skills when it comes to some budget automations.
Currently, the below campaign types have limited data available in the respective APIs.
Affected Campaign Types
Platform | Campaign Type |
Google Ads | Discovery Campaign with product feed (see image) |
Microsoft Ads | Smart Search |
Affected Functionality
We cannot pause or update budgets on these affected campaign types, meaning AutoPacing and AutoProtect are unavailable to use in Adpulse where you have an Adpulse budget containing one of these Campaign Types.
AutoPacing and AutoProtect will be disabled on Account Level Budgets
Whilst the metrics and pacing for Account Budgets that include the affected campaign types are accurate, we cannot pause or update those affected campaign types.
Child Budgets using the Dynamic Campaign Selector
If the Ad Account contains one of the affected campaign types, the Dynamic Campaign Selector will be disabled
What’s NOT Affected
AutoPacing and AutoProtect will work as expected on Child Budgets where the included campaigns are selected manually
You can create Child Budgets where you can omit the affected campaigns types from the selection, and AutoPacing and AutoProtect will work as expected on these Child Budgets
