How to update budgets in bulk

Overview

Often, you want to update multiple budgets at once; typically, this is to adjust the targets for the upcoming month, but you can update pretty much any Budget setting via this export/import process.

Essentially, you export the data, update the fields, and then import it - the data will sync to the newly ingested data within seconds.

How to do it in the app

1. Navigate to Budgets

2. Use the filters to show only the budgets you want to edit (you don't have to do this, but it decreases the chances of updating other budgets in error)

3. Click the download icon

4. A model will open. Leave the date field blank, so it downloads the data as of right now.

5. This will download a CSV with lots of columns;

  • To update the Current schedule update column J, called 'Budget Target'

  • To update the next sequential Future schedule update column AC, called Schedule Budget Target

6. Click the upload icon, and a modal will display asking for you to select the file and the date format.

  • The default is YYYY-MM-DD, but some applications will alter this depending on your region. Just make sure it's the same format as columns F and G, Start Date and End Date

7. Once imported, all the fields will update. That simple!

You can use this method to update almost every budget setting, for example, changing AutoPacing thresholds, KPI type, or Rollover Strategy
