Managing Local Services Ads (LSA) in Adpulse

Updated this week

LSA data went live in Adpulse on the 7th of August 2025

What’s New in Adpulse?

Previously, Adpulse automatically excluded all LSA campaigns, including their performance data and spend, from your Budgets and dashboards. This was primarily because LSAs could not be updated via the Google Ads API.

But that’s now changed.

Adpulse now supports LSAs, allowing you to track, manage, and report on LSA campaign spend and performance just like any other campaign type.

What Are LSAs?

Local Services Ads (LSAs) are a Google Ads format designed to help local businesses connect with nearby customers looking for their services. LSAs appear at the very top of Google search results and are billed on a pay-per-lead basis, rather than a pay-per-click basis. They're popular for service-based industries, such as plumbers, electricians, and real estate agents, among others.

Google’s Local Services Ads are currently available in the following countries for eligible service-based businesses: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland

Will LSAs Be Included by Default?

Yes. Starting with this update, LSA campaigns and spend will be included by default in all Budgets and data views across Adpulse.

If you’d prefer not to include LSAs in a particular Budget, you can easily exclude them using the new Campaign Type filter.

What do I need to do?

There are two ways you can approach this, depending on how you want to manage your LSA spend:

  1. You could increase any budgets that would now include LSA spend to accommodate this new data

  2. You can apply a filter to your existing budgets to continue to exclude the LSA spend (this would replicate how it is managed currently).

How to Exclude LSA Campaigns from a Budget

If you’d like to remove LSA spend and data from a specific Budget, follow these steps:

1. Open the Budget Settings for the relevant Budget.

2. In the Include Campaigns dropdown, select either:

  • Select Campaign Budgets – Static, or

  • Select Campaign Budgets – Dynamic

3. Once selected, a Build Filter section will appear.

4. Click +, then choose:

  • Campaign Type

  • Set to IS NOT

  • Choose LSA

5. Save your changes.

This will exclude all LSA campaigns from the selected Budget, and they will not impact performance reporting or automated budget calculations.

You can, of course, do the opposite if you want the budget to only include LSA campaigns

Static vs Dynamic Campaign Selection

Static Selection

  • Manually select which campaigns, ad sets, or shared budgets to include. This is best when you want full control over what's included.

Dynamic Selection

  • Build rules (like excluding LSAs), and Adpulse will automatically include or exclude campaigns that match those rules. This is ideal for hands-off, scalable management.

If you're unsure whether to include LSAs in your Budgets, consider how they fit into your overall performance strategy. In most cases, including them provides a more complete view of spend and results - especially for local-focused clients.
