11/11/24 - the migration is complete, all budgets in Adpulse are now V2 budgets.
Current State:
We have deployed the first stage of migrating to V2 Budgets. this means the current state is:
All new budgets are created as a V2 budget
All customers have the ability to migrate their V1 budgets to the V2 format. This will be able to be done in two ways:
The 'Migrate' button within a Budget will migrate only that budget
The 'Migrate All' button on the Budget page will migrate all budgets
All V1 budgets have now been migrated to V2 versions and the 'V2' label has been removed from the Budgets page.
What is the change?
Currently, the budget schedule is locked once a budget is created. This means if you have created a recurring monthly budget, it cannot be changed to a recurring weekly or a custom schedule. You need to delete the budget, which loses all the history, and create a new budget with the new schedule.
The update (which we're calling Budgets V2) separates the scheduling component from the actual budget, which means you can create multiple schedule types (recurring, custom) within a budget without having to delete it. You can also now create budget schedules into the future, meaning you can set up all the budget changes for the year as per a media plan in one go.
This is the only change in a V2 budget. The KPIs, AutoPacing, AutoProtect, and budget alerts will remain as they are with no changes being made to their functionality. This update will be reflected across Account and Child budgets.
How are we going to roll out V2 budgets?
As budget management is critical when managing accounts, we're taking a staged approach to moving current budgets to the V2 format. Also, we have been testing the V2 Budgets both internally and with a select number of agencies for a while to ensure they work as expected.
The stages to move budgets to V2 are:
On Monday the 16th of September we will deploy an update:
All new budgets will be created as a V2 budget
All customers will get the ability to migrate their V1 budgets to the V2 format. This will be able to be done in two ways:
The 'Migrate' button within a Budget will migrate only that budget
The 'Migrate All' button on the Budget page will migrate all budgets
On Monday the 11th of November any remaining budgets that have not been migrated to V2 will be done automatically by us.
